There is only One place of rest.

I've noticed how foolishly tried to obey God. But my very intent to obey God, was the very demonstration that I was actually disobeying Him. Why do I say so? Simple, God is not interested in my loyalty or my good behaviour to be honest. He's not even interested in the thoughts I have about myself -- whether they're good or bad. It took me a while to realize this, but I understand now. You might be asking yourself: "What does he understand?" And, like I said, it's "simple". God does not see obedience the way we do. Obedience to mankind is, doing the very thing you were told to do with the best of your ability. The way God sees it, is as such: it's saying the very thing that God did. And this is to proclaim to one another the finished work. That it's by God's "doing" that we're in Christ. If we were to do something other than proclaiming the finished work of Christ in us, then we'd eventually and constantly fall short. Because it's not about doing, but about knowing. Why? Because we haven't yet realized God's Life within us... we haven't yet realized that God is the actual Doer, that is working through this appearance of flesh and blood. When we see,  when we understand this, and when we realize this, we'll see that proclaiming this finished work of Christ in us, to one another is the actual "obedience" unto God.

In the Old Testament, the Prophet Samuel confronts King Saul saying, "Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to heed than the fat of rams," 1 Samuel 15:22 (this is actually a rebuke to King Saul, who had disobeyed God's command to completely destroy the Amalekites).

Meaning of the Verse:
Samuel, the prophet, is highlighting that God's primary desire is not outward rituals or offerings, but rather a heart that is obedient to His word.
So, as you can see, obedience is not a sacrifice! Neither is any sacrifice we make, obedience. It is God alone who is working through us and as us. Whom through His Spirit appears to us all. This appearing is not a physical one, but a realization of the finished work fulfilled by God alone. Meaning, we have to realize this Divine Truth and Life of our own Being within ourselves!  If we have not, then we will live from the thoughts and beliefs of others, we will express these thoughts and will sadly be known by another fruit, and not the fruit of the Spirit. This is the result of mankind's obedience unto God. It is not living from the Source, but from the thoughts and beliefs of our natural mind. In our mind's eye we will assume that we are a separate Life or entity from God. But in reality: Nothing can separate us from the love of God! There is no separation from the life of God, or from God who is our Life, as God is LIFE Himself. If you were separated from God, you wouldn't even exist. Besides, where would you go? There is only and truly one place of rest, and He is the Christ.
